About
Many online shops hide who runs them. That alone breaks EU law, and it is often the first sign that something is wrong.
trustsite.eu started after its founder bought from a dropshipping shop whose advertising did not match the product. The shop gave no name, no address, no company number: there was nobody to turn to.
European law requires every online business to say who it is, where it is based and how to contact it, and to tell consumers about their rights before they buy. A shop that does so has nothing to fear from this website. A shop that doesn't deserves caution.
What we do
- We check websites against a public list of EU consumer-law requirements.
- For each requirement that does not appear to be met, we cite the EU law article and the national laws that apply it.
- Reports come from an automated analysis of each website's public pages, and every report is dated. A person steps in when a website's operator asks for a new review.
What we don't do
- We don't say a website is illegal, a scam or a fraud. That is for authorities and courts.
- We don't rate products, prices or customer service.
- We don't certify shops and don't sell them labels or badges. The service is free, for buyers.
- We don't sell anything, show ads or track visitors.
